Hello Bookworms, Today I wanted to show you the books I read this month. It felt like the month of March went by so fast, but also so slow. So this month I wanted to read, Wicked, and the Series of the Mortal Nicholas Flamel Series. I did that... well I didn't read Wicked. I have no idea where Wicked is right now. Truth be told I didn't even look for it. I read 5 books this month, and my average for the month was 3.8 stars. That would be because of a one star DNF. My April TBR will be posted tomorrow on my Youtube Channel at roughly 11am. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake![]() Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes and Nobel 5 Stars Review> When kingdom come, there will be one. In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions. But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown. The Alchemyst By Michael Scott![]() Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes and Nobel Review > 5 Stars Nicholas Flamel was born in Paris on 28 September 1330. Nearly seven hundred years later, he is acknowledged as the greatest Alchemyst of his day. It is said that he discovered the secret of eternal life. The records show that he died in 1418. But his tomb is empty and Nicholas Flamel lives. The secret of eternal life is hidden within the book he protects - the Book of Abraham the Mage. It's the most powerful book that has ever existed. In the wrong hands, it will destroy the world. And that's exactly what Dr. John Dee plans to do when he steals it. Humankind won't know what's happening until it's too late. And if the prophecy is right, Sophie and Josh Newman are the only ones with the power to save the world as we know it. Sometimes legends are true. And Sophie and Josh Newman are about to find themselves in the middle of the greatest legend of all time. The Magician by Michael Scott![]() Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes and Nobel Review> 4 Stars Ashes to ashes… California: In the hands of Dr. John Dee and the Dark Elders, the book of Abraham the Mage could mean the destruction of the world as we know it. The most powerful book of all time, it holds the secret of eternal life—a secret more dangerous than any one man should ever possess. And Dee is two pages away from the knowledge that would bring the Dark Elders into ultimate power. His only obstacle? Josh and Sophie Newman—who are eight thousand miles away. Paris: After fleeing Ojai, Nicholas, Sophie, Josh, and Scatty emerge in Paris. The City of Lights. Home to Nicholas Flamel. Only, this homecoming is anything but sweet. Niccolò Machiavelli, immortal author and celebrated art collector, is working for Dee. He's in hot pursuit, and time is running out for Nicholas and Perenelle. Every day they spend without the book, they age one year: their magic becomes weaker and their bodies more frail. For Flamel, the Prophecy is growing clearer and clearer. It's time for Sophie to learn the second elemental magic. Fire Magic. And there's only one man who can teach it to her: Flamel's old student the Comte de Saint-Germain—alchemist, magician, and rock star. Josh and Sophie Newman are the world's only hope. If they don't turn on each other first. The Death of Joan of Arc by Michael Scott![]() Michael Scott’s first-ever exclusive ebook short story delves into the world of the bestselling series The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel and offers readers a never-before-seen lost story—the story of two warriors who would become sisters. Joan of Arc was not burned at the stake in Rouen, France in 1431. She was rescued from certain death by Scathach the Warrior. The truth about that day is revealed in the last will and testament of William of York, and it will leave you wondering: does Joan of Arc still walk the earth? Currently Reading:The Inquisition by Taran Matharu![]() Goodreads | Amazon | Barnes and Noble Review > Coming soon In this sequel to The Novice, Fletcher is put on trial by the Inquisition and discovers his tragic origins. Soon after, a competitive challenge is given by the King and his council to the graduating students at Vocans--to go behind enemy lines and complete a dangerous mission. The reward--an army of their own and peace between dwarves, elves and men. Billy the Kid and the Vampyres of Vegas By Michael Scott![]() Years before Sophie and Josh Newman met Nicholas Flamel, two legendary warriors fought together for the first time. ![]() Hello Bookworms, Well, 2016 has finally ended. It was a year of highs and lows for me, and many memories I won't ever forget, and will continue to influence me in the future. I am excited for 2017 and the prospects this year will bring. I have quite a few goals for this year and really want to focus on them and I hope you will join me on this journey. Writing Goals for 2017![]() I did a crazy amount of writing this year. A crazy amount for me at least. I wrote three hundred pages of my own work, just for me, on top of being a full time student with two jobs. I want to continue that. This year I have several writing goals for this year. My First Goal for 2017 is to edit The Five Fritual's, the book I am posting to Wattpad. ( https://www.wattpad.com/343665553-the-frituals-working-title-chapter-1-shauna ) to a publishable or semi- publishable level. Goal 1.5 is to begin querying The Five Fritual's but that won't be until late 2017, if this doesn't happen until 2018 I wouldn't be upset. My second writing goal is to finish The Fritual's Fatel (Working Title) This was the book I wrote for Nanowrio. I finished Nanowrimo, but if you have read some of my previous #writingwednesday posts I did not finish the story. So I want to finish that story, and maybe begin edit it. My final writing goal goes in tandam with school. I will be done with college this December which is terrifying and liberating, knowing that this time next year I won't have to worry about school work. Maybe work work lol. But my goal is for my senior thesis. I have an idea already for what that will be, it will be a Novella as our limit is around 30 pages long, so my goal for this is to start this summer on it, and to have an A on it. This lowest grade I would "allow" myself to have would be a B+ so while my goal is an A I would I guess settle for a B+ on my senior thesis project. My Reading GoalsMy goal for reading this year is to read and listen to at least 60 books this year. I read 58 books I didn't quite reach my goal but I really think that I can make it to 60 books. Doing a review a week I will have to haha. I would love to meet a few authors this year and interview them. I have at least one option to meet and author in May but that is up in the air. I am waiting as paitently as I can for that date. Professional GoalsI would like to build this platform, I know it won't grow to a crazy amount right away but I would love to grow this bookworm family and maybe add some of you to a beta reading group that I would like to start for my work. So keep an eye out for that. My second goal for the professional catagory is to do a really strong job at an intership I will be starting in Febuary for a small publishing company. I don't really know what to expect from it so it will be an adventure. Would you like to see some of that journey? Let me know. My January TBRWith a new month comes a new TBR (To Be Read) List
1. Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas 2. The Inquasition by Taran Mathuru 3. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare 4. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake 5. Conffessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson Hello Bookworms, It is the time of the month where we go over what I have been reading and how those books were rated in my mind. This month was my first month as a book blogger and I got through quite a few books. I am pretty happy with this number. Seven books is really good for me. Sadly I wasn't able to compleate my goodreads goal. As I write this post on Wednesday I have read 57 of my 75 book goal for the year so I got 76% of my goal. I go through periods of time where I read a lot, or a read very little. A lot of my reading is done by listening to audiobooks. My dad got me hooked when I was young. But anyway the majority of the books on my lists will most likely normally be books I listened to, but hey who doesn't like story time right? This month my ratings had an average of 4.2 with a small issue you will see with the latest book I read which would have brought that rating down to a 4. But because of said issue, with the audiobook. Any way, how did you do on your goodreads goal? Did you complete it? What is on your to be read list for January? I can't wait to hear from all of you Love Kate The Crown- Kiera Cass![]() The first book I read this month was The Crown by Kiera Cass, as I said in the review. I loved the first three books in the Selection series but I wasn't a fan of the books focusing on Edlyn. 3 stars 279 pages Full Review > The House of Hades |
