December Wrap Up

Hello Bookworms,
It is the time of the month where we go over what I have been reading and how those books were rated in my mind.
This month was my first month as a book blogger and I got through quite a few books. I am pretty happy with this number. Seven books is really good for me. Sadly I wasn't able to compleate my goodreads goal. As I write this post on Wednesday I have read 57 of my 75 book goal for the year so I got 76% of my goal. I go through periods of time where I read a lot, or a read very little. A lot of my reading is done by listening to audiobooks. My dad got me hooked when I was young. But anyway the majority of the books on my lists will most likely normally be books I listened to, but hey who doesn't like story time right?
This month my ratings had an average of 4.2 with a small issue you will see with the latest book I read which would have brought that rating down to a 4. But because of said issue, with the audiobook. Any way, how did you do on your goodreads goal? Did you complete it? What is on your to be read list for January? I can't wait to hear from all of you

The Crown- Kiera Cass

Picture
The first book I read this month was The Crown by Kiera Cass, as I said in the review. I loved the first three books in the Selection series but I wasn't a fan of the books focusing on Edlyn.

The House of Hades
- Rick Riordan

Picture
I freaking loved The House of Hades. I didn't get into Rick Riordan's writing really until this year and since then I have read almost all his books. Just waiting on my boyfriend to finish The Hammer of Thor so I can steal his copy. I was so happy with the charecter development of all the charecters and how much Riordan's writing breaks a lot of norms I have seen for YA books.

The Blood of Olympus
- Rick Riordan

Picture
I really enjoyed The Heros of Olympus series. I would have to say I liked this series more than The Percy Jackson series. I just like the charecters when they were a bit more grown up. That being said I am was please with this ending. It tied up most, most not all, of the loose ends that I felt needed to be tied up. Those that it didn't I know it will in in other series like the Trails of Apollo.
Does anyone know if Riordan is going to be writing a series just for the Romans? I would totally read that!

The Novice- Taran Matharu

Picture
I have never really read any books that have any deamons in it. Some would argue that The Golden Compass is simular in the connections between the charecters and thier deamons.... but they aren't deamons in The Golden Compass and just no. Not close. I thought this was pretty good. My biggest hinderance was how slow it was for me to get into it. The world building was vital but it took a bit to much to get to the action then skipped a huge chunk of time I actually wanted to see.

Fantastic Beasts and Wear to Find Them- JK Rowling

Picture
This was a super fast read for me! I finished it in about four hours spread over a three day span! Probably because it was a screen play. Reading screen plays was new for me but knowing the world it wasn't too hard for me to picture it in my head.
I still have yet to see the movie! Blasphamy!

The Chase- Clive Cussler

Picture
I like this book for its opening to a new series that was a bit different from the rest of Clive Cussler's work. It was a bit word at times but a fun new series to listen too.

The Wrecker- Clive Cussler

Picture
I didn't really like this book as much as the first one, but it is kinda my fault. I downloaded the wrong version and ended up getting the abridged version. So most of my thoughts are half made... I defintely will have to revisit this one in the future... sorry.
