Happy Friday Bookworms, I am sorry this week has been so weird, if you follow me on twitter you would have seen my writing update there. I was very behind on Camp Nanowrimo. I am still a little bit behind today, but I am getting there. Yesterday I also put out a video on my Youtube channel talking a bit about my experience meeting Michael Scott. It was so cool, and in that video you can see I am still sort of overwhelmed with my life. Click here to see that video. Now lets talk about some books! Alex and Eliza: A Love Story![]() 1777. Albany, New York. As battle cries of the American Revolution echo in the distance, servants flutter about preparing for one of New York society’s biggest events: the Schuylers’ grand ball. Descended from two of the oldest and most distinguished bloodlines in New York, the Schuylers are proud to be one of their fledgling country’s founding families, and even prouder still of their three daughters—Angelica, with her razor-sharp wit; Peggy, with her dazzling looks; and Eliza, whose beauty and charm rival that of both her sisters, though she’d rather be aiding the colonists’ cause than dressing up for some silly ball. Still, she can barely contain her excitement when she hears of the arrival of one Alexander Hamilton, a mysterious, rakish young colonel and General George Washington’s right-hand man. Though Alex has arrived as the bearer of bad news for the Schuylers, he can’t believe his luck—as an orphan, and a bastard one at that—to be in such esteemed company. And when Alex and Eliza meet that fateful night, so begins an epic love story that would forever change the course of American history. In the pages of Alex and Eliza, #1 New York Times bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz brings to life the romance of young Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler. As you can tell this is about Alexander and Eliza but unlike Hamilton the musical it is more about their love story and who wouldn't want to see a historic romance come to fruition, one that was real. This month I don't have to many books that I am super excited about. Check in next month, I will have a bizillion. Thank you to Fabi Ghittoni for this copy. This will not change my opinion on the book* The Elven Tales: The Company of the Rose By Fabi Ghittoni ebook, paperback, hardback Published February 2nd 2017 Rating: Didn't finish I go to 72/251 Synopsis: Prudence Clark lives a seemingly normal life in Cambridge with her best friend’s family. But a series of strange events compounded by a wave of kidnappings is about to turn everything she believed about her existence upside down. A brutal attack catapults her into a new reality – one that makes her the most important refugee of the Council of the Five Kingdoms. Now, she’s charged with the task of finding the King’s runes to stop Alanel, the most malicious and ruthless being, following his escape from prison. Alanel has declared war on the king of Arkana. Now, even more shocking truths come forth, exposing long-held secrets about Prudence’s past and her destiny. Her newfound knowledge will prompt her to embark on a treacherous journey to face dangerous beasts in the most inhospitable of places. But her journey will not be alone, she’ll be joined by the Company of the Rose, brave warriors that will fight by her side, and hopefully, lead to the retrieval of the runes before it’s too late. My Thoughts: I really tried with this book I did. But I couldn't get through it. I was given the book by Fabi Ghittoni on February 23, and I was really excited to read it. If you go to Ghittoni's instagram you see the beautiful cover everywhere. The cover design and interior design are amazing however I could not let that deter my opinion. So this story made me think of Narnia with the transpatation back and forth between a magical realm and Cambridge. I feel like I would have really enjoyed this more if I had a better grounding in the world, however we only saw bare bones details, or what we did were so repetitive I wanted to snap my phone. I never want to see the words "High arching" or "Lofting ceilings" again. I found the redundencies to grate on my nerves so much I had to keep putting the book down. One thing that I may have just grwn accustom to, but I found it hard to get past. There was no internal voice. I realize I only read 70 pages of the book, however, we only saw the charecter's thoughts once. Once! If you were transported to another world, and were told all these unbeliveable things you would be freaking out, nothing. The character really hated this character but she just said she did. I didn't really believe why they did? I never know what Prudance thought! It made it sooooo hard to get into it. Of what I read I felt like if it had a lot more editing it would have been really good so sadly I had to give this one a low rating. I hope in the future we can see better work form Ghittoni. ![]() About the Author: Fabi Ghittoni is an Argentina-based attorney and writer. twitter @scripturienting or on Facebook The Scripturient 101 and Follow me on instagram @scripturient101 Hello Bookworms, Today I wanted to talk to you about something that you may see places that until this year I never really thought about. That is: What is an ARC? An ARC is and Advanced Reader's Copy of a book. These are the books that authors or publishing houses will send out for review. This is how you see that books have reviews on Goodreads or Amazon, before the book has even come out. This is also how books get the little blurbs on the back of the book like: "This book was so masterful it is the new Harry Potter..." You know what I mean, pick up just about any book you own and look on the inside jacket, or on the back of the book and you will see all sorts of amazing things other people say about the books. On Monday, you will see a review for the first book I was ever sent by an author to read. Now this author in particular was looking for people to review her work. But if someone isn't openly promoting that they need reviewers how do you go out and find ARC's?

I like to watch Youtube. Alot. I watch youtube more than netflix. While I don't always watch vlogs, I do enjoy also watching videos about books and writing, more so recently. One of these Youtubers, Vivien Reis, is also writing a book. I love watching her videos about writing and grammar, I know nerd. But her videos are so accessable. She explains things really well, so you don't feel like you are in a lecture. She is being smart andis taking her own advice doing pre-release marketing. Reis is going to be a self published author, and I for one am super excited for this release. If her videos have taught me anything it is that she is brilliant. I can't wait to see what she writes. So what does that cover look like? Release date: Spring 2017 (date TBA) Synopsis:A mysterious island. An ancient evil. A society determined to gain power. Fifteen-year-old Abigail Cole and seventeen-year-old Benjamin Cole never thought one day could alter their lives forever. After a violent attack leaves their father in the hospital and their mother goes missing, both discover there’s more to their family history than mental illness. But when Abi is abducted, she learns the attack wasn’t random. Thrust into an exotic and beautiful world part of a multi-millennial feud, Abi must decide who to trust in a society built on secrets. Enlisting the help of a boy connected to her in impossible ways, Abi uncovers a family secret stretching generations--a secret her abductors have also discovered. With Abi gone, Ben tries his best to search for both his sister and his mother, but his hold on reality is fading. Something dark has latched onto him. Violent hallucinations and paranoia force him to believe he’s next in line for the family curse. Set in a world of magic and fatal powers, failure can result in unthinkable damage. With the clock ticking, Abi and Ben must decide what’s right in time to save themselves and those they love. When darkness is coming, who do you trust? To read an excerpt of The Elysian Prophecy, click here! Okay tell me that doesn't look and sound great! And don't even deny it. We all judge a book by it's cover. ![]() About the author: Vivien Reis grew up all over the world and started out as most writers do--voraciously reading every book she could get her hands on ,and writing as soon as she could wield a pencil. Nowadays she's a mechanical engineer by day and a writer by night, doing her best to help other aspiring novelists reach their full potential through her website and YouTube channel. She started writing her debut novel, The Elysian Prophecy, during a Camp NaNoWriMo event in July 2015. The YA dark fantasy will be available for purchase in Spring 2017. Feel free to join her newsletter to be among the first to hear of any Elysian news!
